Smart home commissioning is the programming and testing process that transforms installed hardware into an integrated system. For Control4 and Savant, commissioning is performed by the certified dealer’s programming team (1–3 days on-site for a new construction home). Commissioning includes: programming all lighting scenes (Morning, Good Night, Entertain, Away, Vacation, plus room-specific scenes); setting up audio/video distribution and streaming service integration; configuring HVAC scheduling and automation rules; programming security integration; creating mobile app profiles; setting up voice assistant integration; and testing every device and scene for correct operation.
