Framed (face-frame) cabinets have a solid wood frame on the front of the box. Doors hinge to the frame, which is visible around the door opening. The frame adds rigidity and a traditional look. Frameless (European/full-access) cabinets have no face frame — the door covers the full box opening for maximum interior access and a clean, contemporary look. Frameless requires more precise installation because misalignments are immediately visible with no frame to conceal them. Both systems are available in inset, partial overlay, and full overlay door configurations.
